A detailed career in communications: Writer. Editor. Broadcaster. Corporate spokesperson. Consultant. University lecturer. Speechwriter. Media trainer. Presentation skills coach.
More than 30 years helping people create, shape and deliver clear and compelling messages about who they are, what they do and why it matters. In independent practice serving clients in both the private and public sectors.
Now, about presentation coach…
You accumulate a lot of knowledge over three decades.
A few big ideas form the foundation, certainly, but it's mostly the small things—tips, techniques, odds and ends—that can improve a speaking style, streamline a presentation, buttress self confidence.
I enjoy teaching about what I know but even with the most comprehensive syllabus, you just can’t cover everything in a single skills clinic or coaching session.
Books take a long time to create, and they’re very one-way in their delivery of information.
So, what more ideal way to examine a complex subject than to have a continuing conversation with people through a forum like this?
presentation coach is my conversation with you about public speaking. It’s about best practices and breaking through barriers holding you back from making the powerful presentations you want to make.
(As for the illustrations published with some of the posts, they’re mine. I tend to sketch while listening to others talk. No disrespect to the speakers; on the contrary, it helps me focus on what they have to say when I have pen in hand capturing in my sketchbook what I see and experience.)
Thank you for visiting. Whether you prefer to e-mail me or leave a comment at the end of any of the posts, I welcome your thoughts. /scott
